Have you heard of the Coquitlam Crunch? This awesome hike is the tri-city’s equivalent to the Grouse Grind – just as beautiful and way less busy.
The Crunch begins from access points at Eagle Ridge Park, Guildford Way, Lansdowne Drive (two access points) and David Avenue and Bramble Park at Panorama Drive. The hike climbs 2.2 km with a 242 m elevation gain along the BC Hydro power-lines and the Westwood Plateau.
Over 890 steps, the Coquitlam Crunch is very much like the grind. Like a stair-master workout in the forest. A serious cardio burn, the Crunch takes about 1.5 hours to complete the total 4.4 km.
Rated intermediate, this hike is perfect for everyone and is easily accessible no matter where you’re located in the city. Give it a go and tell us what you think!
