In case you missed it, here are all the opening dates and upcoming snow forecasts for 11 of your favourite British Columbia ski resorts.
1. Whistler Blackcomb

2. Cypress
This awesome local mountain is already up and running! Cypress Mountain opened this past Friday, November 19th, and from the photos we’ve seen, it looks fantastic up there! It’s snowing 6cm tonight, but looking like some rain up to mid-mountain by Thursday. Snag some turns and some of the best views of the city from this resort asap!
3. Grouse
Another popular mountain for Vancouverites, Grouse opened this past Saturday, November 20th for the season! The freezing level looks like it’ll be pretty high towards the end of the week, so head over there asap if you wanna hit the slopes without the deep soak.
4. Sun Peaks
Canada’s second largest ski resort, Sun Peaks, up by Kamloops, is also open for the season as of November 20th! Notorious for having light, fluffy powder – this opening week looks like it’ll be getting a nice dusting of snow. Gonna have to wait a minute for anything substantial though.
5. Big White
Big White, a wildly popular resort by Kelowna, is opening up on November 25th! They’re also expecting light snow throughout the week with consistent sub zero temps. It’ll be no time before this awesome mountain is a winter wonderland.
6. Seymour
The last of the triple threat of Vancouver’s closest ski resorts, Seymour still hasn’t announced their opening date for the season. However, our good friends over there are hinting at a late November, early December start, and you can bet we’re excited! Stay tuned!
7. Revelstoke
Revelstoke, another great spot in the interior of BC, is opening up this Saturday, November 27th! And it’s expecting to dump starting Wednesday, all the way through to the weekend! Is it premature to be waxing our pow skis already?
8. Silver Star
As of right now, Silver Star is expecting to open up their alpine on December 3rd. Nothing too substantial over the week expected in their snow forecast, but we’ve got plenty of time for the base to fill in.
9. Red
The planning opening day at Red Mountain is December 11th! A bit later than the other ski resorts, you can bet it’ll be worth the wait. Their instagram has the most insane shots that have us itching to hit the slopes.
10. Kicking Horse
Kicking Horse is set to open on December 10th for ski season. Super close to Banff, this fantastic resort is a must-try sometime this winter if you’re looking for some crazy vertical. I mean, look at that photo…
