The head chef of Sai Woo Vancouver, Han Seung-min, grew up playing the same childhood games as in the show, Squid Game, when he was a kid in Korea. Inspired by the show’s incredible popularity, the team at Sai Woo have come up with the special 6-course culinary event hosted October 28 – October 31st, with 3 different seatings each night. You’re definitely going to want to get on this quick before it sells out!
Sai Woo, an asian-fusion restaurant in Chinatown, is well-known for its delicious eats and great vibe. You can expect the same at this event. All the restaurant’s staff will be in costume to really make you feel like your part of the game (without all the risk involved…)
In between courses, you and your group will play Ppogi, Gganbu and Honeycomb, where you’ll cut out a shape from the sugar-and-honeycomb cookie with a needle. Just like in the show! And if your number gets called, you might be called upon to play Ddakji, the tile flipping game that Seong Gi-Hun first played to participate in the Squid Games. You think you can do it?
Probably one of coolest Halloween events in Vancouver this year, what more can you want from a night out than quality cocktails, delicious food and adrenaline fuelled games with your friends?
Be sure to book in advance to ensure you get a seat for this event.
