The Best Italian Restaurants On Commercial Drive

Commercial Drive, aka Vancouver’s Little Italy, is home to some of the best and most authentic Italian restaurants in the city. With so many to choose from, we’ve narrowed it down to five of the most beloved and drool-worthy spots for your next dinner out in the neighbourhood.

Sopra Sotto

Deeply embedded in the neighbourhood culture, Sopra Sotto is one of the most popular Italian restaurants on Commercial. Their Casarecce e Tartufo is one of the best in the city and with a sleek, classic interior, this restaurant makes for a perfect night out with friends or family. Even though you’re coming for the delicious pastas and pizzas, their cocktail menu is both extensive and delightful. Check out their happy hour 3-5PM and 9PM to close, daily.

Pepino’s Spaghetti House

An old-school Italian restaurant, Pepino’s is located in the former spot of Nick’s, a neighbourhood staple since the ‘50s. Pepino’s has maintained its legacy with large portions, thick, deep-dish pizza, and authentic vibe. If not for the incredible food, the atmosphere alone will have you wanting to come back again and again.

Via Tevere Pizzeria

Right off Commercial Drive on Victoria, Via Tevere is another of Vancouver’s favourite Italian spots that proudly serves classic Neapolitan style pizza. Made with only the finest and simplest ingredients, this spot has a vow to honour tradition and you can really taste the authenticity. Can’t make it to the restaurant? Follow their food-truck around the city for a classic Italian bite on the go!

Marcello Pizzeria

This award-winning Italian restaurant serves a huge variety of perfectly crusty and soft, wood-burning oven pizzas. Marcello’s chic decor and atmosphere make their patio and indoor-dining space the perfect setting for a dinner-out. A cheese-lover’s paradise, both their pizzas and pastas will provide you with that delightful string pull for the food-porn photos.

Oca Pastificio

Long-time favourite of Vancouver’s Italian-lovers, Oca Pastificio is home to some of the best hand-made pasta in the city. Their chalk-board menu is constantly rotating to include the best in season and local produce that make every visit an opportunity to try something new.
