The annual Vancouver Mural Fest is set to launch next week on August 4th 2021 until August 22nd 2021. This long-anticipated festival is running in 11 neighbourhoods throughout the month, with more than 60 new murals and 40 live shows.
On August 4th 2021 from 5:30PM – 11:30PM, the festival is kicking off with their opening ceremony, Celebrating Afro-Diasporic Identities. This awesome event will feature live music and dance performances, storytelling Black diasporic identities in history and continued influence on art and culture.
Mural tours will also launch on the 4th for the rest of the month. Murals can be seen in the neighbourhoods of Mount Pleasant, Cambie Village, Downtown, Edgemont Village, West End, Strathcona, Hogan’s Alley, Marpole, Punjabi Market, River District, and South Granville.
Each of the neighbourhoods will have a set tour running, completely free of charge, that you can attend to view all the different displays of public art. Check out their website for the full schedule of different events and to access a map of all the different districts featured.
