Where To Find Vancouver’s Best Plant-Based Burgers For International Burger Day 

Today is International Burger Day and therefore a perfect excuse to hit up these fan-favourite burger joints around the city. Indulge in these plant-based burgers to support local restaurants and experience these creative takes on a classic dish. 

 

1. BEETBOX

This 100% plant-based restaurant in the West End has a hefty selection of burgers and sandwiches to choose from. To celebrate International Burger Day, their new “Beeg Mac” burger, featuring two house-made patties, melted “cheeze”, special “Mac” sauce and iceberg lettuce, is available for a limited time over the weekend. Be sure to check out this local spot if you’re in the neighbourhood and craving some no-guilt, vegetarian and vegan eats. 

 

2. POURHOUSE

In Gastown? Head over to Pourhouse to taste one of Vancouver’s most popular burgers. Their Portabella Burger is a vegetarian delight with swiss cheese, tomato jam, truffle mayo, pickled onion, all layered on a sesame seed bun. Today only, Pourhouse is offering a Burger-and-Beer combo that includes this plant-based burger, a choice of Kennebec Fries, Thick-Cut Chipper or Tots and choice of tall boy Beer (take-out) or pint of draught. 

 

3. MEET 

Meet, the rapidly growing plant-based restaurant, now has three locations around the city – Main Street, Gastown and Yaletown. A well-established, fully plant-based institution, you can find 8 different burger options that each come with fries and a salad.

4. DOWN-LOW BURGERS 

This in-famous burger joint has some of the most popular and instagramable burgers in the city. While they may be most known for their traditional burgers, Down-Low Burgers offer two plant-based options – the Vegan Burger and the Vegan Chicken Fried-Sando. Both of which will have you and your friends crawling back for more. 

 

5. BELLS AND WHISTLES 

A crazy take on the plant-based burger, Bells and Whistles’ Veggie Burger is made with a quinoa, almond and chickpea patty, topped with tomato, green goddess dressing, avocado, sprout and feta cheese.
