Attention passengers: the Bright Nights Christmas Train will be arriving shortly.
All aboard — there’s one popular Vancouver Christmas tradition that hasn’t been derailed this year, and it’s on its way to town to bring us some holiday cheer! The Bright Nights Christmas Train is set to start boarding passengers again for the 2020 holiday season starting November 26.
Operating every day (except Christmas Day) from 4 pm to 10 pm until January 1, 2021 on Pipeline Road at Stanley Park, this magical, family-friendly train ride has an approximate duration of 15 minutes and will feature countless shimmering holiday lights, Christmas decorations, and seasonal tunes. The experience has been scaled back and modified this year to ensure visitor safety during the pandemic, so there won’t be the typical plaza lights or a visit from Santa — however, the train ride promises to be equally as enrapturing as before!
Tickets go on sale tomorrow and will be available only via online advance purchase. Each ticket will cost $10 plus GST, and children aged 2 and under can ride for free. Trains will run every 20 minutes and tickets for each ride are limited due to capacity restrictions. A portion of the proceeds from the ticket sales will be directed towards the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund to support burn survivors and their families.
The Bright Nights Christmas Train promises to be an excellent, COVID-friendly holiday experience that will have passengers feeling extra jolly for the holidays.
