The stunning Draconid Meteor Shower is set to be at its peak tonight, October 8th 2021, for all Vancouverites. On the west coast, you can’t always bet on a clear night for viewing the night’s sky – especially in the fall. That’s why tonight is a lucky opportunity for viewing!
The Draconids are best in the evening, instead of before dawn, because the shower’s most radiant point is at its highest in the October sky at nightfall. Apparently, as night passes, the radiant point will only sink lower and lower in the sky.
Your best bet to see this incredible display of the night sky is as far from the city as possible. You don’t want the light pollution getting in the way of the meteor shower. Check out these perfect lookouts to observe the night sky. All you have to do is grab a blanket and enjoy!
