4. Celebrate the Lunar New Year at one of these stunning installations
Vancouver is the host of tons of fun events to bring in the Lunar New Year! Including the stunning, Lantern City installations by the Art Gallery and in Granville Island, the city is lit up with beautiful art to celebrate the holiday. The Vancouver Chinese Garden is also hosting some unique events like storytelling sessions and calligraphy tutorials that you should see as well!

February is Black History Month and there is tons of opportunities for you to educate yourself and support our city´s Black community. BC´s Black History Awareness Society is hosting a lot of events for furthering your education and there are plenty of local organizations that could use your support too.

La Poutine Festival is coming back to Vancouver this month and they´ve just released all their participating restaurants! Only until February 14th, this 2-week fest of all things poutine is celebrating its 10 year anniversary at some of Vancouver´s favourite spots. Try The Cider House´s ´Roasted Mushroom Poutine´or Juke´s ´Clay Fries´ for a real tasty dish.

One of the most cute and romantic little spots in the city, Sweet Revenge is the perfect spot to end a night. Tucked in close to King Ed on Main St, this intimate spot serves some of the tastiest espressos and cakes you´ll find in Vancouver. One of the best kept secrets in town. We promise.
12. Check out this unique immersive light show in Whistler
Valle Lumina is (no joke) one of the coolest multi-media experiences we´ve ever been to. An enchanting walk through a snow-filled forest, just north of the village, you´ll be totally mesmerized by the projections and light shows. Calling itself a journey through the mountains lit up by ‘star dust’, where the legends of the forest come to life, Valle Lumina is a must-see for anyone up at Whistler.
13. Go snow shoeing for sunset
Offering some of the best views in the city, Mount Seymour has tons of snow shoeing trails, both in and outside of the resort. Recently, BC Parks just implemented a mandatory day-pass system in the area, so be sure to fill that out before you head up.
14. Watch 51 of Canada´s best short films at the VSFF
The Vancouver Short Film Festival is only on until February 6th! Featuring some of the best short films in the country, it´s a wonderful opportunity to see established and up-and-coming filmmakers´ innovative work. Streaming virtually on their website, don´t miss out!
15. Experience White Rock´s stunning coast line illuminated by lights
From now until February 15th Bright Walk in White Rock is illuminating the picturesque coastline of the city. Experience the iconic pier and the sea walk under magical lights. Who says that the winter magic needs to end now that the holidays are over?
16. Take an immersive storytelling adventure to celebrate the Lunar New Year
Into the Light (在燈光之中) runs for three days only from February 18th – 20th and is one of our most anticipated events for the Lunar New Year. An immersive, storytelling experience of traditional legends of the Lunar New Year, this is a wonderful, all-ages event you´ve got to see.
17. Admire the incredible Sankofa exhibit at the MOA
Sankofa: African Routes, Canadian Roots is on at the Museum of Anthropology. One of many incredible exhibits celebrating Black History Month, this one is definitely a must-see. A collaboration with Black Arts Vancouver that furthers artistic expression in Pan-African youth in Vancouver, checking out this exhibit is a really cool way to give back and learn something new.
18. Take a walk through one of these immersive art exhibits
One of many immersive exhibits to capture the hearts of Vancouverites, the Sistine Chapel experience is only on until February 20th! This beautiful up-close look at the artistic mastery of Michelangelo´s Sistine Chapel is like something you´ve never seen before! And if you´re craving more after this, you should try the Da Vinci exhibit that has a speciality VR component that really amazes.
19. Wander through a forest of romantic twinkling lights
From February 4th – 28th, the Capilano Suspension Bridge is lighting up with their themed, Love Lights for Valentine´s Day. Super romantic and stunning (as always), you don´t need an excuse to check out this beautiful location, and yet – here´s a really good one! Treat a loved one with a romantic stroll through the forest in this beautiful installation.
20. See the truly impactful art exhibit, Response: Soft Action, at the Polygon Gallery
The Response: Soft Action exhibit at the Polygon Gallery in North Vancouver has completely captured our hearts. The work of multiple indigenous and Canadian artists, Soft Action seeks to explore networks of care and the importance of relationships in shaping who we are. Only on until February 6th, we couldn´t recommend this installation more.
21. Check out the VMF Winter Arts Festival in Downtown Vancouver
A unique augmented reality art exhibition taking you through the streets of Downtown Vancouver and an outdoor festival filled with live music and plenty of performances – what is not to love? The VMF Winter Arts festival is a free festival from February 11th – 27th. Check out their website for a list of the upcoming event details and the hours of the live performances!
22. Support Black designers and artists at the African Fashion Week
An incredible collection of African designers, models and creatives, African Fashion Week returns to Vancouver on February 19th! Filled with high fashion, live performances and dancing – this is a really cool way to get into the fashion scene in the city. Hosted annually during Black History Month, the AFAM gives back a lot to the Black community in Vancouver and is for sure worth checking out.
23. Admire world-famous Canadian art at the Audain´s Riopelle exhibit
The Riopelle exhibit at Whistler´s Audain Art Gallery closes on February 21st! Be sure to check out one of Canada´s most famous artists in this unique take on his collection. A collaboration of indigenous artists and Riopelle´s work in the Great North, this is an exhibit you won´t want to miss.
24. Keep your ´sober January ´ dreams alive in the most fun way possible
